You will be impressed by the Hunter Valley Cheese Company’s fully operating factory, crafting preservative-free cow and goats milk cheese. To continue you cheese tasting journey stop by Binnorie Dairy to try their flagship marinated fetta, get a whiff of some old-style cheese at the Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese Shop and finish off with purchasing some cheesy treats from Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Kitchen.

3.    Catch A Helicopter to Dinner

Arrive at your special occasion in style by taking the scenic route from the vantage point of a helicopter. On your way, work up an appetite whilst enjoying the spectacular views and beautiful landscapes from above. Then, land back on ground to wine and dine at one of the many many fine dining restaurants found in the Hunter Valley.

4. Search the Markets for Local Produce

The Hunter Valley thrives with their abundance of locally produced gourmet food. To celebrate the local farmers and creators, on the first Saturday of each month Tyrrell’s Vineyard host a fine food market which comprises the best produce from the Hunter Valley region. You can find farm fresh produce, boutique cheese, freshly baked bread, jam, preserves, olive oil, eggs, cured meats and sweet treats; truly offering a plethora of gourmet delights!

5.    Picnic Between the Vineyards

Sit among the very vines that have produced your wine of choice when visiting one of the many reputable wineries situated in the rolling hills of the Hunter Valley. Partner this bottle of wine with a delicious picnic spread and some local valley treats. A vineyard picnic is the perfect way to kindle the romance with a loved one or even a great adventure for kids!

6. Attend an Organic Chocolate and Wine Tasting

A getaway to the Hunter Valley is all about indulging, and it can’t get any more indulgent than an organic chocolate and wine tasting at Tamburlaine Wines. Tamburlaine are one of the largest producers of organic wines in Australia, leading the market with their wines being recognised and awarded across the world. They pair their preservative free wine with Australia’s own Pana Chocolate, this rich combination takes indulgence to another level making it a must-do when visiting the region.

Those with a slightly sweet tooth need not despair. The creators of the Hunter Valley Smelly Cheese shop are not just experts in cheese, but brilliant gelato connoisseurs as well! Smelly's gelato bar has a recipe book of more than 200 flavours and, with all the classics as well as specialised varieties such as Ferrero Rocher. All their gelato is made fresh on site, and have plenty of alternatives for the dairy-free folk!
